Earth's Structure & Geologic Processes

Build a clear mental model of the rock cycle first — how igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks transform into one another — since many questions test whether you understand the processes connecting them, not just their definitions. For plate tectonics, practice matching boundary type (divergent, convergent, transform) to the geologic features and hazards each produces, since this is a frequently tested application skill.

Weather, Climate & Atmosphere

Focus on cause-and-effect relationships: what causes wind (pressure differences), what causes fronts to bring weather changes, and how the water cycle's stages connect to each other. Practicing with weather map symbols (fronts, isobars) builds the specific applied skill this section tests, beyond simple vocabulary recall.

Astronomy & Space Science

Diagrams are your friend here. Practice sketching or interpreting sun-Earth-moon position diagrams for seasons, moon phases, and eclipses until you can quickly reason through "what would this look like from Earth" for any given configuration, rather than memorizing each phase or eclipse type as an isolated fact.
